SpongeBob was created by marine biologist Stephen Hillenburg, who used art to teach kids about the marine species and ecosystems around them. With its origin in marine science education, the series has always had a deep-rooted connection to the sea. This connection led Paramount and Nickelodeon to launch SpongeBob SquarePants: Operation Sea Change, a global conservation and sustainability initiative to help protect the home of the very creatures that inspired Bikini Bottom. We created this collection in partnership with Paramount Consumer Products to support the Operation Sea Change initiative as well as advocate for the importance of art in inspiring environmental stewardship.

Proceeds help fund programs that bring underserved students from Title I schools across California to visit the Ocean Institute for hands-on STEM education at no or reduced cost. The program is incredibly impactful as many of the student participants have never seen the ocean or been on a boat before.
